Website Design Grants Available in Ireland

There are currently two website development grants available in Ireland: The Local Enterprise Office – Online Trading Voucher and The Social Welfare TAT Grant.

Guide to Getting a Website Design Grant in Ireland

If you’re looking to create an online presence for your business but you’re worried about the cost, don’t worry – there are grants available for you. We have worked extensively with many Irish businesses on procuring their website vouchers and completing stunning, stylish websites that have great ROI conversion rates.

Receiving state funding depends entirely on the quality of your application you present. Applications that propose the best business opportunities are obviously top of the list for state agency funding. For start-up business grants, the ability to create employment in your local area is highly regarded. For Enterprise Ireland grants, the potential to develop into export sales is essential. Working with Ireland Website Design you can ensure your grant application has the highest of chances of being successful.

LEO Online Trading Voucher

The Local Enterprise Office Online Trading voucher is available for businesses in any industry. Depending on your region, some offices specify two rules: you must be in business for at least the last year and you must be intending to trade online.

Pro Tip: You can get around the online trading requirements by offering your customers the option to pay for your services online!

We recommend you to get in touch with us as soon as possible – some LEOs only accept applications every two months, others certain times of the year and others will only issue funding in batches/rounds. The Ireland Website Design team can help you through this process and cut down on any unnecessary paperwork.

When awarded the grant, you have the potential to receive up to €2,500 off the total cost of your website (net of VAT) and most businesses are eligible to get this grant twice.

If your business idea is to develop a product or service that will generate employment or export services/products (without displacing any current jobs in your area) you can apply for a grant with a larger monetary value. These grants take a lot more work to apply for and can be considerably slower to process. So for now, you may just want a website grant to get your website off the ground.

  • You have less than 10 employees
  • You have products you can sell online OR your clients can pay for your services online

  • Advice on other (non-website) grants available

First, get in touch with our team and we will help get you ready for the process ahead. Next, you will need to attend an information seminar, organised by your Local Enterprise Office. You will then complete an application form. This must be accompanied with a quotation for the development of the website. You must provide reasons to support your choice of web designer – this is usually focused on ROI. You are under no obligation to go with a cheap web design company because of price. The LEO do not consider price relevant, they just want to see a return on investment. This must all happen before the start of your website development and before any payments are made.

The grant will be paid once the following conditions are complied with:

  1. Web site is live and has been inspected;
  2. Original invoices are submitted at time of claim;
  3. Proof of payment is provided, which must be in the form of an original bank statement or an online statement that has been stamped by the bank;
  4. The home page of the website acknowledges the source of funding and accredited in a prominent position. This must include the European Union logo and your Local Enterprise Office logo.
  5. The grant must be drawn and fully paid before the completion date as detailed in the Letter of Offer.
