Scam Alert - One of your employees broke into our home

Recently some of our customers contacted us about an email they received claiming one of their employees was a thief. Thankfully this email is just a scam and you can ignore it, the email received said:

"Hello, I am writing in an unusual case ... Some time ago, I used your services, and one of your employees face was familiar to me. At dinner with my wife, it turned out that he was a burglar, who 5 years ago broke into our home!!! This is ridiculous!!! How you can hire criminals? I found at least 3 bad entries for him at website for background check!! I am sure there are more!!! Please do something about it, things like that are ridiculous!!!" (we have removed the website link as we do not want to promote this scammers website)

So you might be wondering how this scam works? Well its really easy, in the email the scammer who identified herself as Kathie Kearns suggested you check a website with a database of all criminals where you can order online any persons criminal record for just $19. The funny thing is no matter what fake or made up name you put into the search bar it gives you results and some people might believe it works and foolishly pay the money. At this stage they receive your details including your credit card, they supply you with a fake report on a person and then could even use your details later for identity fraud or to steal from your credit card.

Always be careful when reading emails that make you think quickly about spending money like this. If you have any doubt at all it is most likely a scam indeed.
