Case Study - Kinesense

Providers of video investigation solutions to investigators

Kinesense provide video investigation tools to law enforcement and security markets. They specialise in video content analytics technology. This technology can detect events in video automatically eliminating the time necessary for investigators to scroll through it. This saves countless hours of investigation and can provide a company large savings.

Kinesense’s website had been developed for a different time. It had aged well, but it had still aged and it was time for an update. One that would look good on modern, wider screens and that utilised new web design methods.

The Task:
Kinesense required an update to their website that was less cluttered and shared the message of the company clearly. They wanted less text on the home page and to set it up as a professional face to match their professional business.

Our Solution:
After discussing our client’s needs from their new website, we set about creating mock-ups of what the website might look like. When we were agreed on the layout and structure of the new website it was time to begin development. We began by creating the home page from which all other pages would receive their main style.

To the top of the homepage we added a full page slider which gives new visitors an idea of the uses of Kinesense systems as well as the services they provide. Next on the page is a demonstration of a Kinesense tracking system with bullets describing the main aspects and advantages of using the system. Our clients wanted to allow users to see different products and systems depending on their profession, we put a module in place to allow for this on the home page that would direct users to different pages depending on the selection they make. A slider was added to the bottom showing some of Kinesense’s clients.

With the front page created, we set about building the other relevant pages using the matching layout and colour scheme. A number of “Call to Action” buttons were added to the site to draw users to the information they were seeking.

Kinesense keep a blog of news and events that they are involved in. Their old website made this readily available to viewers of the home page. On the new site it was decided to add the latest news to the footer so that it would be visible on every page. This footer module would show the two latest articles and have a link for viewers to read more articles.

We contacted Ireland Website Design as we were in need of a new website. Our old website did not highlight the professional service which we offer. Through a number of meetings we were able to come up with a new design and structure which their designer captured perfectly. The project was managed excellently and there was great communication throughout the entire project. To say we are happy with the end product is an understatement .
